MANA de Hidalgo County, a local chapter of MANA, a National Latina Organization, was chartered by MANA National on December 1, 2001. MANA is committed to empowering Latinas through leadership development, community service, and advocacy.

Founded in 1974 in Washington, D.C. by a group of Mexican American women as the Mexican American Women's National Association, MANA's original intent was to provide a voice for Mexican American women at the national, state, and local levels. Since then, the organization has expanded into a diverse group of Latinas of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Cuban, Central American, South American, and Spanish decent in all areas of political, social, and professional fields.

Membership is open to all people of all races, creeds, and religions. We do not discriminate. We merely support our fellow citizens, and serve as a guiding light. We welcome new volunteers! Please inquire today about how you can become an important part of the MANA de Hidalgo County family!

Our Mission:
MANA is committed to empowering Latinas through leadership development, community service, and advocacy.

Our Vision:
Our vision is a national community of informed Latina activists working to create a better quality of life for all Hispanics in the United States.
